This isn't really a super hot deal, but TurboTax Standard for tax year 2014 is available for pre-order at approx. last year's sale prices.
Typically, in the past couple of yrs, the product is 39.99 and you'd find it throughout the tax season for about $27 - $30 on sale.
I might pre-order this year as I want to leave myself some time to calculate capital gains for 2014 and come up with an ideal RRSP contribution level before the end of Feb 2015.
Sounds like the software will ship around Dec. 18th.
Not sure at this point if the product will come on for about 19.99 (if 29.99 is the new base price for 2014 version) or if this is just a pre-order sale for 29.99 that will soon go back up to 39.99. If the latter is the case, then it could be a good pick up.
If you're already a UFile user or like to use that free simpletax software, then just skip over this... I've used TurboTax for over a decade and have never had a real desire to switch.
