Garmin GPSMAP 62ST $249 @ MEC

RedFlagDeals.com Forums - Hot Deals http://ift.tt/1EZPICG
MEC currently has the Garmin GPSMAP 62ST for $249 on clearance ( in stores and online at MEC.ca) This may not be for everyone, but I think it's a good deal for a good old fashioned GPS with pre-loaded Canadian Topo maps.

This is an older unit but it's rugged, reliable and unlike a touchscreen / smartphone can easily be operated while wearing gloves / riding. This is great for hiking, hunting and Search and Rescue.

It has been superseded by the 64 series last year (same form factor/screen size/ resolution) which added GLONASS support, a little extra storage, extra wireless connectivity in exchange for lesser battery life. (20vs16hrs) I for one don't think it's worth an extra $200! You can find out more about the differences here: http://ift.tt/1w371Uf

For comparison's sake, Sail.ca has the 62S (no T) on clearance for the same price (250) but it has less built in storage and is lacking the topo maps (a $129 value according to garmin.com)

I bought mine tonight at MEC's longeuil, QC location and I'd say they had at least an extra 5-6 in stock. YMMV!
