This device is a solid little piece of work. An excellent all around problem solver.
The unit is all business, the build quality is relatively high, the keyboard is excellent... and at least some units (perhaps all) include a finger printer reader.
The chip is a monster, at least 90% as fast as the i7-4710 that's paired to systems closer to $1000. Meanwhile, the Ideapad sales don't compare as they're uniformly more expensive machines, or lower specced in key areas (hybrid or dinosaur HDDs), and almost all of them compromise build quality.
This is ready out of the box with the option of Windows 7 or Windows 8 and an SSD that doesn't require immediate replacement. Finally, there's far less bloatware on this business-line machine than the Ideapads.
